He is co-author, with Peter Blanck, of Race, Ethnicity, and Disability: Veterans and Benefits in Post-Civil War America (Cambridge University Press, 2010), and Heavy Laden: Union Veterans, Psychological Illness, and Suicide (Cambridge University Press, forthcoming).
